Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, over 40% of underserved students in public schools continue to experience a digital divide, limiting their ability to complete schoolwork, and significantly increasing the achievement gap. With limited access to the rapidly developing technologies of today’s economy and the education, civic participation, and employment opportunities afforded by them, critical and significant segments of the US population are being systematically excluded.
